Bremen is a popular city in Northern Germany that has gained recognition as an economic and cultural hub since the medieval times. The port city is located on the shores of River Weser and offers a treasure of heritage attractions to its visitors. The architectural monuments in Bremen are worth admiring and most of our time in the city was spent on visits to historic buildings and museums. Some of the best places to see in Bremen are listed below:
Our trip to the old village of Schnoor Viertel was a journey back in time. The historic place has beautifully preserved the old-fashioned lanes and 15th century timber buildings that take you to a totally different world. There are many vintage shops, pubs, stores, and restaurants in this area. It is a common hangout location for tourists and you would definitely enjoy it. Schnoor Viertel was the first destination I had been to and the place truly represents the spirit of this old port city.
Buergerpark is a 202-hectare park in the center of the city. If you are looking for a place to unwind, nothing can be better than Buergerpark. The natural landscapes and gardens in the place are enchantingly beautiful. There are many fountains, statues, and sculpture that are given life to the scenic backgrounds. There is a beautiful lake in the park that allows the tourists to enjoy boat rides. The place also houses a small zoo that attracts lots of family tourists.
Rhododendron Park is a popular botanical garden located at Deliusweg 40. The entire park occupies a land area of 46 hectares and was originally built in 1905. The place houses over 2000 species of azaleas and rhododendrons. There is a forest area in the park that still preserves the first planted rhododendrons that date back to 1936.
